Finding Arizona This Weekend - April 27 - 29, 2012

We will try and post by Wednesday of each week a couple of events happening around Arizona for the upcoming weekend.  This is our first attempt - hope you like this type of information.




In the Valley of the Sun … Visit the Deer Valley Rock Art Center


This is one of our favorite places in the Valley.  This weekend at the Deer Valley Rock Art Center is Junior Archaeologist Field Day.  It is designed for kids ages 8 - 12 and will be held Saturday, April 28 from 10:00 am - 2:30 pm.  Check out their website for registration fee and information - http://dvrac.asu.edu/events/calendar

Around Arizona... Visit the Boyce Thompson Arboretum


We want to highlight Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Superior.  Not only is this a beautiful location but the staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable.  If you have never been to Boyce Thompson Arboretum, let us encourage you to get out and discover this wonderful, Arizona treasure!

-Daily 11:00 am Guided Tours of Arboretum grounds
-Gourd Art Classes  April 27 - 28; 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
-Butterfly Walk April 28 with ASU professor Ron Rutowski 8:30 am
-Wildflower Walk - last one of the season - April 28; 11:00 am
-the Arboretum Rocks - a geology walk - April 28; 1:30 pm
-Junior Ranger Activities for kids - April 28; 2:00 pm
-Stories for Kids - April 29: 2:00 pm
